Nearly 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the region, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
